The built-in self-monitoring system continuously checks for correct operation and, if necessary, will signal if the device is not working correctly. Independently, the user can test the sensor himself using the large TEST/RESET button in the centre of the housing. The included AA-type batteries last a long time and, if they are low, the self-monitoring system will signal that they need to be replaced. Once the 10-year lifespan has elapsed, the unit will indicate that a replacement is required. A major advantage of the FA6115 sensor is that it is quick and easy to mount to the ceiling, via the included mounting studs.
