Description
The AMD 5000G series core processor, which goes on sale in August 2021, uses the successful 7-nanometer "Zen 3" microarchitecture also found in the popular Ryzen 5000 series "Vermeer" processors. The most significant difference between the APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) and the conventional 5000 series desktop processors is the on-board graphics card, which is one of the most powerful graphics cards currently integrated in a processor.

Looking at the CineBench R20 performance test results, it outperforms Intel's current best Core i5-11600K processor, and just misses out on the sought-after Ryzen 5 5600X, which has no on-board video card at all.
Even when combined with the ultra-powerful GeForce RTX 3090 PCI-Express video card, AMD's CPU-intensive 1080p resolution delivers results on par with Intel's 10th generation Core i5 processors.
Integrated video card performance
It's no secret that the power of the video cards built into the processors is still far behind the best and even mid-priced GeForce and Radeon video cards, but the iGPU is powerful enough to play hundreds of different PC games. With fast Dual-Channel DDR4 RAM, the onboard video card outperforms the GeForce GT 1030 and Radeon RX 550 PCI-Express video cards in most games.
It won't quite be able to pull off the latest and most graphically demanding PC games, but popular games on Steam like CS:GO, Dota 2, PUBG, Apex Legends and GTA V, as well as Minecraft, Fortnite, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, Valorant, League of Legends, Civilization VI and more will be playable at the popular 1080p resolution at 50 FPS and even higher.
