Working with audio

The Creative meets the recommended requirements of all the most demanding sound processing and music production applications, so you can seamlessly process audio on this system with FL Studio, Ableton Live, Reason, Cubase, SOUND FORGE, Adobe Audition, Audacity and other DAW tools. A wide range of internal and external ports allow you to add a professional-grade sound card, MIDI controller or musical instrument.

Photo processing

Although software developers are gradually introducing functions in the world's most demanded image and graphic editors that also involve the graphics card (GPU), the CPU still carries the bulk of the load in these tasks. This is why we have installed the powerful 6 core Core i5-12600K processor with 20 MB cache and 3.70 GHz base frequency on the B760 (DDR5) motherboard, which the processor is able to increase to 4.90 GHz during more complex tasks . This is a very optimal configuration for Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and Illustrator, as professional observation confirms that these applications can use a maximum of eight cores efficiently.

If you are exclusively a photo processor in the Adobe CC environment, this system will not cause any hitches, even when editing huge volumes of images - paying extra for a Core i9, Ryzen 9 or Threadripper system will not bring performance improvements proportional to the price increase in this particular application. This is not the case for video and 3D content processing, where the number of processor cores has a much greater impact on export speed and the improvement will be dramatic!

Video editing and post-processing

The CPU is also the primary processor for saving or rendering video material, butpreviews and effects that support graphic acceleration require a good video card with sufficient graphics memory (VRAM). The optimal amount of VRAM depends directly on the resolution of the video material to be processed:

The system uses a Core i5-12600K 4.90 GHz processor and 8 GB GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card to deliver true high-end performance in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, MAGIX Vegas, DaVinci Resolve and other video editing and post-production tools for the relatively low price of the PC.

The amount and speed of RAM is also important for video processing tasks. We have equipped this workstation with 6000 MHz 32GB (2x16) DDR5 RAM, which will cope perfectly with 1080p editing and simpler 4K video processing. For more complex projects in 4K or higher resolution, we recommend doubling the RAM or choosing one of our Intel Core i7/i9 or AMD Ryzen 7/9 systems with 32GB or more of random access memory!

If you're wondering why we've chosen to install a gaming GeForce RTX 3050 on this Creative PC rather than one of the NVIDIA Quadro or AMD FirePro graphics cards designed specifically for professionals, our experience shows that gaming graphics cards are significantly lower in price but deliver the same or better performance than professional Quadro and FirePro solutions. In addition, GeForce RTX 3050 will allow you to clear your head in your spare time by playing a demanding PC game that will not be possible with Quadro because their drivers are not optimised for PC gaming!

CAD design and 3D modelling

Today's most popular 3D tools Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya, Revit and Cinema 4D can only effectively use one core during the model creation, modification and animation process, so the CPU clock speed plays a particularly important role during these operations - the higher the clock speed, the smoother the work will run. The same applies to AutoCAD, Inventor and Revit architecture and design software.

In contrast, in scene rendering (Arnold, Mental Ray, V-Ray, Keyshot, etc.), it is the number of cores that has a vital impact on the time taken to export the material, so that often in large corporations, employees are provided with a separate workstation for modelling, while the rendering processes run on completely different systems, known in the jargon as render farms.

The Creative series of Core i5-12600K processors used in this 4.90 GHz case will allow for efficient modelling, while the 6 cores / 16 threads core configuration will allow for both simple and moderately complex 3D models to be rendered efficiently. The performance of the graphics card is also important to render 3D content smoothly and seamlessly - our chosen GeForce RTX 3050 8 GB is more than sufficient for this purpose.

The recommended RAM for the applications listed is between 8GB and 16GB, so the base configuration of 32GB (2x16) DDR5 6000 MHz RAM is enough to run all the processes we have in mind.

For more serious projects and in particular for maximum rendering efficiency, we recommend that you consider an Intel Core i9, AMD Ryzen 9 or ideally a Ryzen Threadripper multi-core workstation.

When you install GeForce RTX 3050 with a latest generation Intel Core i3/i5 or AMD Ryzen 3/5 processor, you get a capable gaming PC at a democratic price.

In terms of graphics performance, GeForce RTX 3050 convincingly beats its direct competitor, the Radeon RX 6500 XT. It is also faster than the GTX 1660 SUPER, but slightly beats the previous generation RTX 2060.

Ergonomics

Given the amount of time we spend in front of a computer nowadays, the impact it has on our physical health and well-being, or ergonomics, plays an important role in our choice of computer. Laptops are by design unsuitable for long-term use because the relatively small screen is placed very close to the keyboard and the two cannot be in the right position for the human body at the same time. Prolonged work in an unnatural sitting position can cause neck and back pain and even lead to poor posture. Similarly, looking at a small screen puts increased strain on the eye muscles and, over time, almost inevitably leads to visual impairment.

Advantages of a desktop computer

Mobile processors and graphics cards have become more powerful in the last couple of years but the difference between the performance of a laptop and a desktop PC is still marginal. Of course you can run modern games and even professional photo and video editing software on a laptop but at the same price point a desktop computer will offer more performance than a laptop at almost any task.

In our experience insufficient cooling is also a serious problem in laptops and there’s an easy explanation – users want their devices to be powerful yet thin and light which is almost an impossible combination to achieve. Most consumers and manufacturers prefer design and mobility over performance, which results in a visually attractive product that heats up rapidly after just few minutes or even seconds after putting an increased load on the main components. Laptop fans start spinning faster to cope with the excessive heat. This increases the noise and is very often not effective enough, so the CPU and/or GPU reaches its temperature limit and the thermal throttling (self-preservation by significantly lowering the clock speed) kicks in. That results in a big loss of performance.

Warranty information

Every Dateks.lv computer set is provided with a 2-year warranty. The serial number and individual warranty period of each installed component is reflected in the warranty certificate, which is issued to the customer in printed form upon receipt of the goods. For individual components where the manufacturer's warranty period exceeds two years, we will provide full warranty service until the end of the warranty period for that particular product. Our kits are not sealed or otherwise restricted, so the owner is free to open the case to clean it, add memory or make other changes to the computer.

Each Dateks.lv computer kit is made to individual order and according to the computer components specified in the order. Therefore, a computer package is a product that is made to the customer's specifications or is clearly personalised, and the consumer cannot exercise the right of withdrawal when purchasing a computer package (Article 16 of EU Directive 2011/83/EU).
