Pirms iegādāties maršrutētāju ar 3G atbalstu, lūdzam ražotāja mājaslapā pārliecināties, vai šī iekārta atbalsta konkrētā mobilo sakaru operatora 3G USB Dongle uztvērēju.
Band mode	Single Band
SingleBand ir standarta 2.4GHz bezvadu tehnoloģija, kas raksturīga visām mūsdienu bezvadu iekārtām. DualBand ir 2.4GHz ar papildu 5.0GHz kanālu, kas nodrošina labāku signāla uztveramību un stabilāku ātrdarbību. Šāds risinājums parasti nepieciešams birojos, kur starp datoriem tiek bieži kopēti lieli failu apjomi vai tiek lietots ātrs interneta pieslēgums (no ~30 MB/s) vairākos datoros vienlaicīgi.
Iekārtas tips	Router
Access Point - bezvadu piekļuves punkts, kas nodrošina kabeļu tīkla paplašināšanas pārraidi bezvadu tīklā izmantojot vienu LAN pieslēgvietu. Access point nav rūteris, un nespēj sadalīt vienu interneta pieslēguma adresi vairākiem datoriem, tamdēļ šo iekārtu slēdziet tikai aiz esoša kabeļu rūtera. Router, jeb maršrutētājs - bezvadu piekļuves punkts, kas nodrošina viena interneta pieslēguma sadalīšanu vairākiem datoriem, gan caur tīkla vadiem, gan bezvadu tīklā. Parasti bezvadu maršrutētājam ir viena kabeļu interneta pieslēgvieta, četras datoru pieslēgvietas (kuras var papildināt, izmantojot switch komutatoru) un antenas, kas nodrošina apraidi datoriem un citām WiFi iekārtām. Range Extender - bezvadu tīkla apraides attāluma pastiprinātājs. Paredzēts esoša signāla pastiprināšanai, lai palielinātu uzveršanas un pārraides attālumu. Wifi adapter - Bezvadu tīkla karte, paredzēta datora pieslēgšanai pie bezvadu WiFi rūtera vai piekļuves punkta. PCI, PCI-E ir paredzēti galddatoriem, savukārt PCMCIA un USB - portatīvajiem datoriem. Jāpiebilst, ka lielākā daļa portatīvo datoru jau rūpnīcā tiek komplektēti ar bezvadu tīkla kartēm. USB tīkla karte ir pēdējā izvēle, jo USB2.0 caurlaidības ātrums ir samērā zems ~22MB/s, kas nozīmē to, ka netiks izmantots bezvadu tīkla maksimālais iespējamais ātrums. Ja ir iespēja, labāk izvēlēties kādu citu pieslēguma veidu.
Print Server	Nav
Iespēja iekārtai pieslēgt printeri, izmantojot USB portu un koplietot to iekšējā tīklā. Šī funkcija darbojas tikai tiem printeriem, kas atbalsta kādu no PCL drukāšanas valodām. HostBased printeri, kas attēlu sagatavo datorā, no šīs iekārtas izdrukāt nevarēs. Jāņem vērā arī tas, ka liela daļa printeru ir daudzfunkciju iekārtas ar faksa un skenēšnas iespējām. Dēļ tehnoloģiju neviendabīguma PrintServer iekārtas skenēšanas funkciju lielākoties neatbalsta.
Standarts	802.11N 270Mbps
Bezvadu pārraides tehnoloģijas standarts. 802.11G ir jau novecojis standarts un atbalsta tik vien kā 54MB/s datu caurlaidību, kas mūsdienās bieži vien jau ir par maz. 802.11N ir patreiz populārākais standarts, toties atšķiras šī standarta ātrdarbības iespējas. Vēlams izvēlēties tādu iekārtu, kas nodrošina 300MB/s caurlaidību, jo patreiz tas ir optimālākais pirkums ar zināmu skatu nākotnē.
VPN	Nav
VPN, jeb Virtual Private Network, ir iekārtas spēja ar saviem skaitļošanas resursiem izveidot šifrētu lokālo tīklu internetā. Ja uzņēmumam ir vairāki biroji, kas savienoti savā starpā ar publiskā interneta pieslēgumu, tad VPN ļauj izveidot mākslīgu iekšējo tīklu, kas nebūs "redzams" pārējiem interneta lietotājiem, savukārt uzņēmuma darbinieki šo tīklu "redzēs" kā parastu Workgroup tipa koplietošanas tīklu. VPN funkcija prasa samērā lielus skaitļošnas resursus, tamdēļ datu pārsūtīšana būs lēnāka, nekā ierasts parastā iekšējā tīklā LAN.
